Directors
Responsibilities include organizing and controlling large groups of children in games and activities. Directors must manage, evaluate and develop effective counselors. Directors are responsible for creating a fun and energetic environment. Responsibilities also include interacting with parents.
Qualifications include a college degree and demonstrated experience working with children. Previous coaching experience and/or participation in sports are important considerations. Good communication skills and flexibility are essential. Director candidates must display high energy, enthusiasm; politeness, friendliness and patience.
Associate Directors
Responsibilities include organizing and controlling large groups of children in games and activities. Associate Directors must assist in the management, evaluation and development of effective counselors. Associate Directors must help communicate the rules of each activity, and guide counselors in the instruction of basic skills. Associate Directors are responsible for creating a fun and energetic environment and be responsive to needs all children. Responsibilities also include interacting with parents.
Qualifications include being at least 18 years of age and having basic knowledge, skill and coordination to play most sports and games. Candidates must be working toward a college degree. Prior work experience with children is preferred. Previous coaching experience and/or participation in sports are important considerations. Good communication skills and flexibility are essential. Associate Director candidates must display high energy, enthusiasm; politeness, friendliness and patience.
Counselors
Responsibilities include working with small groups of children. Counselors must communicate the rules of the activities and provide instruction on skills. They must focus on the needs of each child under their leadership while working to create a fun and lasting experience for all.
Qualifications include being at least 15 years of age and having basic knowledge, skill and coordination to play most sports and games. A desire to be physically active and enjoy playing games is important. Counselors must be reliable and prompt. Counselor candidates must display high energy, enthusiasm; politeness, friendliness and patience.
